St Michael's in the Community

St Michael's is active within the community of Linlithgow.

Members of our congregation support on a voluntary basis the local hospital called St Michael's, too, which cares for the frail elderly. St Michael's Day Care Centre also benefits from voluntary support, as does Linlithgow Link, St Margaret's Residential Home (a Church of Scotland Home) in Polmont, the Linlithgow Help Centre and local branches of many other organisations, national and international.

The Linlithgow Young Peoples Project is a charitable youth organisation founded by St Michael's Parish Church, St John's Evangelical Church and the other churches of Linlithgow to address the social, recreational, welfare and spiritual needs of the young people. Until recently, St Michael's co-funded a youth worker as well as providing office accommodation.Bed -shaped Savings Boxes

A regular and on-going Penny Collection for the Bethany Christian Trust has so far yielded in excess of £10,000.

At Harvest Festival time, some eighty gifts of flowers or groceries are distributed amongst the elderly and housebound. At Christmas, the ponsettias that adorned the church for the Carols and Lessons Service were presented to housebound members of St Michael's.

Wherever you find an organisation in Linlithgow, you will be sure to find a volunteer member of our congregation, too. Volunteers find that the amazing thing about helping others is that they, themselves, derive the best benefit as it helps them grow as Christians.
