St. Michael's Flower Group

Many people find that the presence of flowers in the church is a help to their worship and we try in St Michael's to arrange them as beautifully as we can.

The flowers which appear in the church each week are usually donated by members in memory of someone or to mark an anniversary or family event. In the weeks where there is no donor, a smaller arrangement is provided, paid for out of general donations to the Flower Fund.

The Church Flower Calendar provides for those wishing to adorn the sanctuary in recognition of an event or anniversary. Many people like to place a small arrangement beside the book of Remembrance to mark a special date. The Flower Group is glad to help with this if asked.

The Church Flower Group also arrange flowers for church weddings if asked, for which a separate financial arrangement is made. Of course, if a person who donates the flowers also wishes to arrange them, that is very helpful.

Even if there is a wedding on the date you wish, the Flower Group can still do an arrangement for you. Please add your name if you wish to donate the flowers for a particular Sunday. Payment for the flowers for these Sundays are made to the Church Office six weeks before the specific date; cheques should be made out to St Michael's Parish Church.

General donations to the Fund may be made in the same way. It can cost £60 - £80 per week to provide two pedestals in the Church and so we are grateful to receive any donations, large or small, to top up the Flower Fund which is used on the weeks when no-one has donated the flowers.
