General Notices: Notice Board — In addition to the specific notices on this intimation sheet, please note there are a number of posters publicising particular events displayed on the notice board in the Servery area of the Kirk Hall. Intimations — Notices are now being put under the headings of the vision statement. All notices need to be in the church office by Thursday morning. It would be helpful if you could outline which heading you would like it to go under. he Linlithgow Rugby Club Choir will perform a concert in St Ninian's Craigmailen Church on Sun 31 August at 3pm. This will be their last public performance before their autumn concert tour to Toronto, Canada. All are welcome to attend and there is no entry charge, although donations to the Choir's preferred charity, CHAS, will be happily received. Care for the Family course. Do you have children/grandchildren? Are you worried about alcohol/drugs? This course has strategies, info and practical parenting ideas to help you steer your child away from the harmful use of alcohol and drugs. Starts Wed 17 Sept, 7.30 - 9.30pm, for 5 weeks. Delivered by St Michael's specially trained presenters, with local guest speakers adding a Linlithgow perspective to the course. Charge of £10 to cover cost of course manual. On that day we will be remembering the founder of the event, Rev John Carrie, who died recently from cancer. Your support would be most welcome. Girls Brigade is back for its new session on Wed 27 Aug. They meet in the Kirk Hall at the following times: Explorers (P1 – P3) 6.15pm – 7.15pm; Juniors (P4 –P5) 6.30pm – 8pm; Seniors (P6 – P7) 7pm – 8.30pm; Brigaders (S1+) 7.30pm – 9pm. Making Him known to others Songs of Praise is coming to Linlithgow and will be recorded in St Michael’s Parish Church. The recordings will take place during the evenings of Monday 29 and Tue 30 September from 7pm – 10.30pm for transmission of two programmes, one on the first Sunday of Advent 2008 and the second in May 2009. We are very much aware that we are asking a huge commitment from you to attend both nights. On the Mon 29 Sep we will rehearse then record the hymns. On Tue 30 Sep we will do the vision recording of the hymn singing. The conductor will conduct the singing to playback of the sound recording achieved the previous evening. If you would like to come along please sign up on the sheet in the church today or on the servery notice board in Cross House during the week or ring the Church Office and leave your name. The Guild Dedication Service will be held on 22 Sept at St Ninian's Craigmailen Church. The first Guild meeting will be held on 6 Oct. |
