St Michael's Badminton Club If you fancy a game of badminton, the opportunity is close at hand. Indeed, you need look no further than the church hall. In the Kirk Hall, every Tuesday evening between September and May when the hall is not being used for Session meetings or other special occasions, a cheery group of friends of assorted ages takes to the court (a superb facility: full-sized and high-roofed) and passes the hours between 7.30pm and 10pm in cheerful banter as they seek to hone their skills in preparation for the next Olympics(!!!??), or try to recapture the skills of their youth, or even, more realistically, just concentrate on trying to get that blooming thing over the net! The St. Michael’s Church Badminton Club began life several years ago as an offshoot of what was then the Woman’s Guild, but over the years that connection has been dropped as a necessary condition of membership, and now there are as many men as women who are part of the group. The current group would welcome new members to the fold. For a very modest fee to cover costs you could be sharing good company, enjoying a cup of coffee and a biscuit at ‘half time’, and at the same time convincing yourself that all this exercise must be doing you good! Anyone for badminton? For any further information please contact the Secretary of the Badminton Group, c/o the Church Office.
