The History of the Church of Scotland
The Christian Church, established by St. Columba in Scotland, underwent many changes during the centuries. The greatest of these was the Reformation. To give a history of the Church of Scotland in a few short paragraphs would be impossible. Instead, significant dates from the time of the Reformation are listed below. They have been provided by Rev Archie Russell, a member of St Michael's and our former Pastoral Associate, who has written a monograph on the subject, available through our Visitors' Stall.
